Robin Horrex | Founding Director
Born in Chelsea and raised in SW London, lifelong Blues fan and father of two, Robin cut his teeth in various advertising and design agencies in and around London before starting his own agency in 1996 which merged with Zone in 2006.
His vision has helped keep the agency moving forward, always searching for new ways to develop both creatively and in the business arena.
A childhood longing to become an airline pilot has been partially satisfied when Robin gained his Private Pilot’s Licence in 2001.
A music mine of useless 80s trivia, Robin’s musical tastes are more Blur than Oasis; more Stone Roses than Rolling Stones; more Hip Hop than Jive Bunny (Google it!) and he loves the audio mash ups created by having his iPod on shuffle.
Robin likes to travel and his favourite city is Sydney, where he has family. Just as comfortable under the water as on land, he is a keen scuba diver and has found himself face to face with sharks and all things fishy on numerous occasions.
In 2011, Robin’s business acumen was recognised with the award of ‘Entrepreneur of the Year’ by Thames Valley Chamber of Commerce. Follow his tweets: @wheninroam

Sue Armstrong | Managing Director
Sue’s been here since the beginning, bringing with her extensive client and agency experience. She is an energetic and enthusiastic team leader who doesn’t let the grass grow under her feet – or anyone else’s.
Aquarius: Sensitive, opinionated, happy go lucky and strong-minded. Warm spirited, enthusiastic, spontaneous and unconventional. Fiercely independent, nothing will ever pin them down in one direction. Progressive thinkers, they constantly explore ideas and challenge those they oppose, they offer creative solutions to problematic situations. Aquarians have no time for the boring and mundane. Inconsistent and unpredictable moods, (we’ve certainly experienced the odd flash of fiery temperament, maybe that’s down to being a ginger). All round good eggs.

Andy Scarth | Creative Director
Andy heads up the creative team, utilising a mixture of skills to service the diverse portfolio that Zone enjoys. He specialises in branding and has rich experience in traditional advertising as well as digital media.
A New Zealander, he lives in London with his wife and children. Half Kiwi, half Scot, and married to a Macedonian, his personal life is as diverse as his creative skill-set. He has a love for healthy-living but won’t let this stand in the way of enjoying a sociable lager or two. We must mention his genuine love for music, Andy’s iPod on shuffle always proves entertaining in the studio, jumping from Eminem to Flight of the Conchords to Wolfmother to Caribou to Elvis to Jurassic 5 to Dylan Storey to SugarKane to Rhombus to Mozart to Sasha to Frank Sinatra’s Happy Birthday. Paul Maynard | 3D & Motion Director
Paul is our quiet technician who is the master of 3D and Motion. Based in our production house at Pinewood Studios, he lives and breathes the industry of film and animation.
Born in the Big Smoke but brought up in the more tranquil surroundings of the countryside, Paul is married to Jo and a proud father of two teenage sons.
Paul leads an active lifestyle and when the sun is out you’ll be sure to find him out on his bike, jogging or walking, but preferably towards a country pub garden!
Never one to waste a flash of creativity, Paul always keeps his sketchbook at hand, so when the opportunity arises he’ll adorn a pair of headphones, find a comfy spot and sit and scribble away at anything/anyone in view.

Darren Evans | Senior Account Manager
Darren was born and grew up in North Wales, moving to London in 1999 for the streets paved with gold. He has since spent over 10 years bringing his golden touch to below-the-line marketing in retail and FMCG.
It’s Darren’s background of working for Safeway and with Tesco that brings great expertise for handling our Carlsberg, Cadbury, Kraft and PepsiCo accounts. He is known for his uncanny eye for detail and is driven by customer satisfaction and meeting deadlines. When he’s not keeping everyone on their toes, he enjoys travelling to new places, which invariably means getting lost – all less of a problem now that he has an iPhone complete with sat nav app.
Darren Evans | Senior Account Manager

Zoe Wilson | Design Director
Zoe has been with Zone since the early days and has 10 years agency experience in the world of design. She has won awards for her work on Bayer Animal Health, as well as several other accolades.
For Zoe it’s tangible print design that rocks her boat, but not one to swim against the tide, Zoe’s embracing new technology and also enjoys the pixel side of design. Away from work you’ll find Zoe enjoying the summer months in a comfy seat beside her garden fire-pit, with a cheeky glass of Hendricks in hand.
Zoe Wilson | Design Director
Zoe has been with Zone since the early days and has 10 years agency experience in the world of design. She has won awards for her work on Bayer Animal Health, as well as several other accolades.
Susie Marchant | Finance
Susie has been instrumental throughout the growth of Zone, keeping the numbers in order and providing financial wisdom – especially during times of change.
Although methodical and precise on the accounting front, Susie charms her way through the day with cheeky smiles and lovely cups of fruit tea. Thespian by nature, she is a member of her local theatre group. Our sharp-witted Susie also loves to travel, sample champagne (no imitations thanks!), scrutinise restaurant food – and we simply love her to bits!

Charlotte Brassington | Graphic Designer
Charlotte is currently away from Zone, but never far out of mind. She’s been busy bringing a new member of the Zone family into the world; Welcome baby Thomas! She brings over 10 years design experience to Zone and is brand guardian on our Carlsberg account.
In the three years we’ve enjoyed her talents, we couldn’t help but notice she’s a bit of a petrol head. Driving fast cars and F1 is her thing, but on less adrenaline-fuelled moments she can be found in the garden enjoying a leisurely glass of wine.
Charlotte Brassington | Graphic Designer
Charlotte is currently away from Zone, but never far out of mind. She’s been busy bringing a new member of the Zone family into the world; Welcome baby Thomas! She brings over 10 years design experience to Zone and is brand guardian on our Carlsberg account.
Katy Baker | Digital Account Executive
Katy’s role at Zone is jam-packed full of variety. She puts her writing skills, social media expertise and outgoing personality to great effect as our Graduate Trainee, with a strong focus on copywriting. Katy also takes care of some of our boutique clients.
A self-confessed foodie and camping queen, she’s not nicknamed “GI Jane” for nothing. When she’s not working her magic at Zone, she’s likely to be found in her element exploring the great outdoors and sampling culinary delights around the world.
Katy Baker | Digital Account Executive

Vicky Fielding | Graphic Designer

…we know her spare time is filled with drawing, partying, painting, cooking, hamsters, watching 80s movies and making up words and phrases. So it’s not spare time for very long. Hmmm… hamsters?

Layla Mohamed | Production Assistant
Layla wears several hats but is generally charged with managing the studio and ensuring everything runs smoothly.
Equally versatile after work, she illustrates, sings and plays guitar. And great news – the jewellery collection ‘Stargazer’ that Layla created has recently been launched in Singapore. Creativity abounds…

Stephen Dossett | Digital Designer
Stephen is a great fit for the Zone team, a Digital Designer who shares our passion for 3D and website design. After gaining a Degree in Multimedia, he’s spent a further eight years honing his digital skills, largely through self-tuition, but now at Zone he can put it all to practice.
Away from the computer, you’ll find Stephen immersed in Japanese culture, with a taste for Sushi and a love of Anime, or doting on his Miniature Poodle, aptly named Panda.
